Colocation Service Terms

These Colocation Terms govern the placement, operation, and management of customer-owned hardware within HostupCloud data centre facilities. They supplement the General Terms and Conditions and the System Policies. A separate Colocation Service Order Form is required for each colocation engagement.

1. Facility Standards

Dedicated half-rack space with lockable panel

Power: Up to 5 kW (custom higher available)

Network: 10 Gbps uplink

Fully dedicated locked rack

2.1Power is metered and billed separately based on actual kWh consumption above the included allocation
2.2Dual PDU feeds (A + B) available for full racks for power redundancy
2.3Additional power circuits available at additional cost — request via support ticket
2.4Exceeding allocated power draw without written approval may result in circuit breaker trip and service interruption
2.5Wireless access points, consumer routers, or personal networking equipment are not permitted in the colocation space

3. Network Connectivity

Uplink speed

1 Gbps standard. 10 Gbps available for full racks. 100 Gbps available for cage/suite customers.

Bandwidth

Unmetered (fair-use) bandwidth included. Dedicated commit bandwidth available on request.

IP allocation

Minimum /29 IPv4 block (6 usable IPs) provided. IPv6 /48 available at no charge. Additional IP blocks on request with justification.

BGP peering

BGP session available for customers bringing their own ASN and IP space. Full-table or default-route options.

Cross-connects

Cross-connects to other tenants or to our cloud infrastructure available. 1G and 10G fibre cross-connects.

Transit providers

Multi-homed via Tata Communications, Reliance Jio, and Airtel — ensuring path diversity and low latency to Indian IXPs.

4. Physical Access Policy

4.124/7 customer access available upon advance notice (minimum 2-hour notice for unscheduled visits)
4.2Access is restricted to authorised personnel listed in the customer's Access Control List (ACL)
4.3All visitors must sign in at reception with valid government-issued photo ID
4.4Escorted access for non-ACL personnel (e.g. contractors, engineers) must be pre-approved in writing
4.5HostupCloud issues access cards or biometric credentials — lost cards must be reported within 4 hours
4.6Tailgating (following another person through a secure door without independent authentication) is strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate access revocation
4.7Photography or video recording inside the facility is prohibited without written consent from HostupCloud management
4.8Food, liquids, or flammable materials are not permitted in the colocation floor
HostupCloud reserves the right to deny access to any individual who cannot be verified against the ACL, appears impaired, or poses a security risk to the facility or other tenants.

5. Customer Hardware

5.1All hardware must be standard rack-mount form factor (1U, 2U, 4U, etc.) unless cage/suite arrangement is agreed
5.2Hardware specifications (weight, power draw, dimensions) must be submitted before installation
5.3Customer is responsible for all hardware installation, maintenance, and removal
5.4Hardware must comply with CE/BIS/FCC certification as applicable
5.5HostupCloud will provide advance notification (24 hours) before touching customer equipment except in emergencies
5.6Hardware exceeding 20kg per 1U or with abnormal heat output (>300W/1U) requires prior written approval
5.7HostupCloud is not liable for hardware damage caused by customer installation errors, power surges beyond facility spec, or acts of God
5.8Customer hardware left in the facility after contract termination for more than 30 days may be considered abandoned and disposed of

6. Power & Facility SLA

Power availability

99.982% / month

10% of monthly fee per 1-hour outage beyond SLA

Network uptime

99.99% / month

5% of monthly fee per 15-minute outage beyond SLA

Temperature

21°C ± 3°C at rack inlet

5% per sustained exceedance > 1 hour

SLA credits are applied as account balance. Credits do not apply during scheduled maintenance, customer-caused outages, or force majeure events. Claims must be submitted within 15 days of the incident.

7. Remote Hands & Smart Hands

Remote Hands (Basic)

2 hours/month included

7.1Power cycling servers (manual power button)
7.2Connecting KVM / serial console
7.3Reading BIOS/POST error codes
7.4Checking cable connections and indicator lights
7.5Inserting/removing USB media

Smart Hands (Advanced)

Billed at ₹1,500/hour (min 1 hour)

7.6Installing, removing, or replacing hardware components
7.7Cable patching and labelling
7.8OS installation from physical media
7.9BIOS/IPMI/iDRAC configuration
7.10Custom tasks as agreed in writing

8. Liability & Insurance

8.1HostupCloud maintains general liability and property insurance for the facility
8.2Customers must carry their own equipment insurance covering replacement value of colocated hardware
8.3HostupCloud's liability for hardware damage is limited to direct damage caused by our gross negligence, up to 3 months' colocation fees
8.4HostupCloud is not liable for data loss from failed or damaged hardware — data backup is the customer's sole responsibility
8.5HostupCloud is not liable for equipment theft unless attributable to a breach of our security procedures
8.6HostupCloud is not liable for indirect, consequential, or business interruption losses arising from facility or equipment issues

9. Termination & Equipment Removal

9.1Minimum contract term is 3 months. Thereafter, 60 days' written notice required to terminate
9.2Customer must remove all equipment within 30 days of contract end date
9.3HostupCloud will provide access for equipment removal during this 30-day period at no additional charge
9.4Early termination (before minimum term) incurs a fee equivalent to remaining months in the minimum term
9.5Equipment not removed within 30 days of termination will incur storage charges at ₹500/rack unit/week
9.6Equipment not removed within 90 days may be treated as abandoned and disposed of at the customer's cost
